Bitters Past page, avec le sang des Peeps

In this household, whenever you see drops of blood, it’s invariably Peeps’s.

Right on a Bitters Past page, too, which I think was wholly appropriate. It was pencilled at the time. I had to ink around it.

Mine & Sascha's summer getaway includes opera, the Sound of Music, Christopher Street Day, & off-season ski-jumping. We so rock the casbah.

And now, birdie pics!

More Plantation Girl never-seen-before bits. These had the Canada theme:

Art-ness! )

I had thought about one day drawing the entire applying-&-moving-to-Canada experience, but holding off on it for now. Just until it no longer feels too personal. Also, man, that would be quite a story to tell.

Everybody has their own Five Points About Twilight. Here are mine:

In case you missed it the first time: If you’ve enjoyed Cleolinda’s play-by-play of the Twilight series, you’ll love Lucy Knisley’s illustrated summary of the vortex that sucks your soul.

"You'll have fun at the cabin. WHERE THE ZOMBIES WILL GET YOU."
"No, they won't. Zombies never go near the ocean."
"Why is that?"
"Salt water. Too corrosive."
"But their flesh is falling off anyway."
"What's this?"
"Zombies don't go near the ocean because they get in contact with salt water and just disintegrate."
"Oh."
"Ohhh, so *that's* why they're always in urban areas!"
"Yeah, you always find them in the middle of the country. . . ."
"Is that why there are never any zombies in Hawaii?"
"Ohmigawd, now I want to make a movie: 'Zombies in Hawaii'!"
"That would be so awesome!"
"We could launch a series! 'Zombies on Spring Break'!"
"'Zombies in Cancun'!"
"'Zombies Gone Wild'!"

For friends having rough days of late, here's something that I hope if not brightens your day, then at least brings over a smile.

Yes, that is what he sounds like when he's putting the moves on her.

Dude, seriously, for the last time, this is not where we break out copious amounts of slash. It is not that kind of story. Go find Sascha, she can lead you to water, where you’ll have plenty to drink. Some involving bandom, even.

I know.

(It still kills me that Robert Pattinson finds Twilight fanfic “surprisingly hard-core. And very well written.” Oh, Mr. Pattinson, you have no idea. At least you are not an FBR band.)

Hi guys!

My Flickr pro account is expiring and this makes me sad, because I really like having somewhere to share my pics. Even if they mainly feature birds, birds, and oh my more birds OHMIGAWD SO FLOOFY. But I do post an occasional decent photo and maybe even some with lovely lighting.

Anyway, I would reeeeeaaaaaally like to keep these photos (non-pro account means Flickr hides older pics from sight, which means even the TAI pics will be archived), but can't swing by the renewal just yet.

So here's the deal: if anyone would be so lovely and awesome as to give me the gift of Flickr, I would be more than happy to give you the gift of trade. You will get an original 9"x12" artwork by me of whatever you want. Or if you prefer other options like writing or art print or sworn vows to post a pic/sketch/drawing/story/porn every day, lemme know. Those work too.

Because I really like my pro account. Please?

(. . . And, yeah, okay, because I really love pics of my floofy birdies too.)

Edit: OHMIGAWD I LOVE YOU NELL NAME YOUR PRICE YOU ARE TOO COOL YAY. :D

Currently confirmed on Sascha and mine's Take Europe By Storm Or At Least One or Two Countries to Start With list this summer:

- Garmisch-Partenkirchen (the whole reason we're going, basically)
- Frankfurt (since that's where we'll be flying in)
- Munich (as it's on the way to Garmisch-Partenkirchen)

We've had to take Florence off the list, so won't be going down to Italy after all. I'm contemplating Salzburg. Sascha's going to bombard me with other potential places soon, but I think we're mostly going to center around Germany and Austria.

Any suggestions on other places around there we should visit? Would love to hear some ideas!

(Also have to figure out who'll look after ze birdies while I'm gone. Very scary contemplation. :( )

Currently have to figure out what negligible plants are safe for birdies to graze on, so that I can reserve a pot specially for them in the hopes that they will STOP CHEWING ON MY CILANTRO.

On the bright side, Peeps's breath has never been more aromatic.

C's going to lend me her copy after her hubby reads it with much disbelief. This is gonna be hilarious. Let the gigglefest ensue.

Y’ know, when I was drawing today’s update, I was flummoxed and had to double-check Marseilles’s words. Could it really only just have been “last night” when this whole affair — to tell the truth, when the very first page of Bitters Past — occurred?

Somebody correct me if my memory’s playing tricks. It boggles the mind.

. . . Man, I bet they’re looking forward to the weekend.

Oh, the pain, the heartache, the betrayal. It’s just like Days of Our Lives. If, y’ know, Days of Our Lives had more knives and eyeballs flying about.

Of course, if it had, it would have a much more diverse viewership, I can guarantee you that much.

Then again, it’s kinda hard to picture an action-packed soap opera when it takes seventeen episodes just to get a character to finish crossing all the way to the other side of the room.

In case you missed it, there was a Bitters Past update yesterday. I was just too overloaded with Other Things to mention it. In its description I'd entered: "I guess there's some sort of comfort in knowing the guys who beat you up weren't really after you in the first place." And that sums it all up, really.

Go read!

In other news, Nell has shared a couple of links that have restored my faith in writers. As in, "Oh gawd I am SO grateful for the ones that don't write like this guy please make him STOP."
