Hola, all! If you were a fan/reader of Jupiter in the past, you might enjoy this never-seen-before, unfinished Jupiter story that I was working on last year.

Bitters Past page, avec le sang des Peeps

In this household, whenever you see drops of blood, it’s invariably Peeps’s.

Right on a Bitters Past page, too, which I think was wholly appropriate. It was pencilled at the time. I had to ink around it.

Bitters Past page in progress

I get That Urge to Draw whenever I’m just about to move. Which means much disarray if my art material has been packed up. I’ve learned by now to not tape up the box lest I’m driven by desperation to buy all-new drawing material just to satisfy That Urge.

Been working on a double-page feature for Tuesday With Everything In It. I'm sharing in-progress shots because it involves architecture and background and flippin'-huge canvas and I really feel like getting some credit for this, dagnabbit.

Now I have to try and figure out moving coordination, because I have to be out of here Jan 31 but can only move in Feb 1 after noon, which screws me out of a move-everything-in-and-out-in-just-one-day. This being my 9th move in 11 years, I am so ready to hire people to do the moving for me, but this one-day window would require storage overnight, thus the coordination figuring-out part. One option is to rent a U-Haul, hire movers to load it one day, unload it next day, and, oh, yes, have them drive it over, because I really don't think I feel comfortable driving a U-Haul. MADNESS, I TELL YOU.

If you guys have any other ideas or suggestions on this, I'd be more than happy to hear 'em. Oh lordy, I think I might just stay at a nice hotel with ze birdies during that period too, because I will need *something* to keep me sane and pampered during that time.

. . . Y' know, I was gonna say this might end up my most expensive move ever, but then I remembered that I'd only just moved cross-country and across the border not too long ago. Heh. How quickly we forget.

More of a look into what goes into an art commission. After getting the go-ahead on the completed pencils, I laid out basic inks for the chars.

More behind-the-scenes action: After finishing the first pencils, I sent them off to Natalie for pre-approval to see if there’s anything she’d like adjusted before I go ahead with inking. She did want a collar unbuttoned and shirt untucked for one of the chars, and wanted the hair slightly longer for another of the chars, so I did those:

Tuesday With Everything In It update! In which there are boys. Yay boys! A bus full of the Y chromosome. You can see why Ms. Cruz is more than a little piqued, can’t you?

Well, maybe you will. Eventually.

Go read!

Also, hey, how about enjoying a couple of in-progress shots?

(This was originally posted to my mailing list, so yeah, to them I made the casual mention.)

Soooooooooooooooooooooooo, remember when I casually mentioned that TAI has the originals of my fan-comic now?

Sascha alerted me to this.

. . . I really cannot possibly hide this now.

. . . You realize it's only a matter of time before they discover the whole thong thing.

Sascha calls me "a very strange scene queen in the making." To my flummoxation (and I don't think that's a word), I really can't argue with that.

. . . Dude.

Yeah, I bet you’ve always wanted to wake up around naked bodies yourself.

Before you get too eager for upcoming pages, I should mention that this whole sequence is not going to involve any full-frontals. Mainly because when I asked le editor de GS about its policy on nudity, he was all, “I shall smite thee with the power of a thousand suns!”

And I was all, “You don’t have a thousand suns.”

And he was all, “I said the power of. Don’t argue with me, woman!”

And I was all, “Fine, but I’m going to stick a naked tush there and that’s final.”

And he was all, “Oh hell yeah.”

. . . Well, okay, I’m paraphrasing. A lot. Don’t tell him I said all this.

Anyway, ‘tis a Bitters Past update. Go read!

Also, advanced notice that there won’t be an update next week. Why? Because it’s my birthday, and I’m taking the week off to celebrate! Bitters Past will resume week after that. But hey, as a consolation, you folks get a bonus below! I’d mentioned to Kat that I’d taken some in-progress shots of the previous page because I loved the middle three panels so much. Here they are for your enjoyment!

I'd best mention this now since I won't be online tomorrow: Tuesday With Everything In It update is tomorrow, so go read it then! And same deal, advanced notice that there won't be an update for it next week on occasion of my birthday. It'll be back week after!

So, hey, apparently my “I Kissed A Boy” video was picked as this week’s winner of Cobra Starship‘s fan video contest. It’s currently being featured on their MySpace page. Whoa.

To the Cobras, glad you like. :) To everybody who posted comments and responses, aw, thank you! I really appreciate it!

Mike commissioned three MMII sketch cards from me a couple of weeks ago, but we kept it under wraps because two of them were surprise presents. He’s given the presents now, so I can showthem to you! Have a gander at The Incredible Hulk, Invisible Woman, and Gambit. I had great fun working on Hulkie, to my surprise. Thanks, Mike!

See the sketch cards here! Like previous sketch cards, this one has in-progress shots that you can check out.
